Carrie Dow is a freelance travel writer whose work has appeared in Islands, International Living and IntervalWorld. She is currently the Local Editor of DrinkDenver, part of The Drink Nation. She is also the Founder of What's Pawsitive where she writes about animal-based travel and animal welfare issues around the world. She recently published a children’s book about her annoying cat called Morning, Miss Moo, available in hard copy and digital format from Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and iTunes. An occasional football widow, she is mom to a Siberian husky and a Siamese cat.

A graduate of the University of Nebraska with a B.S. in Language Arts, she is a member of the North American Travel Journalists Association, Investigative Reporters and Editors, Denver Press Club, and the Cat Writer's Association (Didn't know there was such a thing, did ya?). She has also taken professional classes with award-winning writers Jayme Moye and Joel Warner, IRE Watchdog Workshop, and Creative Conferences of Colorado. She was named the NATJA's Featured Member for November 2017
